The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing housing welfare for police personnel as he received the Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Mr. Shehu Usman Osidi, and his management team on a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

This was contained in a statement signed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja on January 28, 2026

The statement reads, during the visit, Mr. Osidi expressed appreciation to the IGP for the warm reception, describing the Nigeria Police Force as one of FMBN’s most strategic institutional partners. He commended the Force for its consistent cooperation with the Bank and called for strengthened collaboration to enable police personnel access housing benefits and mortgage facilities seamlessly, without administrative bottlenecks or disputes.

Responding, IGP Egbetokun welcomed the FMBN delegation, noting that the visit was both timely and significant in advancing the partnership between the two institutions. He stressed that strategic institutional collaborations remain critical to achieving sustainable housing solutions for police officers nationwide.

The IGP further reaffirmed that the welfare of police personnel remains a top priority under his leadership, emphasizing that access to affordable and decent housing is key to boosting the morale, efficiency, and overall well-being of officers who daily risk their lives in service to the nation.

He assured the FMBN leadership of the Force’s continued cooperation in initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of police personnel, both during active service and in retirement.

The Nigeria Police Force, he added, remains committed to fostering partnerships that uphold the dignity and welfare of its officers.
