A political support group, Progressive Voice for the Progressive Minds (PVPM), has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, pledging to mobilise members and other Nigerians to vote for the president and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group made its position known on Tuesday during a political dialogue held at Valencia Hotel in Abuja, where participants discussed the Tinubu administration’s policies, achievements and impact on the Nigerian economy.
The event brought together women’s support groups, civil society organisations, students, persons with disabilities, party members and other stakeholders. The National Programme Manager of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), Hon. Hamza Ibrahim Baba, and Hon. Dr Kehinde Alex Bankole attended as guest speakers.
Speaking at the event, PVPM Founder and Convener, Hon. Theresa Ugbaja, said the organisation was established to support Tinubu’s return to office for a second term.
Ugbaja said the group believed the president had demonstrated the capacity to lead the country and should be given another opportunity to continue his administration’s policies.
“We are here to discuss and lend our voices to the re-election of President Tinubu. If he is not doing well, we will not support him. We are supporting him for re-election because we know that he is capable and determined to renew the hopes of millions of Nigerians,” she said.

She expressed optimism that the country’s economic and social conditions would improve if Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima secured another term.
According to her, the group would intensify its mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of the APC from top to bottom,” Ugbaja said.
She also maintained that members and supporters who attended the dialogue were motivated by their political convictions.
APC Chairman Urges Support Groups to Mobilise
In a goodwill message, the Chairman of the APC in the Federal Capital Territory, Hon. Tanko Ishaku Yamawo, commended PVPM for its support for the party.
Yamawo urged political support groups to align with the party’s leadership and work towards the election of APC candidates at all levels in the 2027 elections.
He emphasised the importance of coordinated mobilisation efforts in advancing the party’s electoral objectives.
GEEP Manager Highlights Tinubu’s Reforms
Also speaking, Hamza Ibrahim Baba, National Programme Manager of GEEP, argued that Tinubu deserved a second term to continue implementing his administration’s economic and social reforms.
Baba cited the removal of petrol subsidies, foreign exchange reforms and investments in the oil and gas sector as key measures introduced by the administration.
He said the reforms were intended to strengthen public finances, improve investor confidence and support economic growth.
Baba also highlighted Nigeria’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force’s grey list, describing it as a positive development for the country’s international financial standing.
On education, he pointed to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), established to provide financial assistance to students pursuing higher education.

According to figures he cited at the event, the programme had provided more than 550,000 student beneficiaries with disbursements totalling N56.85 billion within its first 12 months.
He said the initiative was designed to reduce financial barriers to higher education and expand access for students from low- and middle-income households.
Baba commended Ugbaja and members of PVPM for their political mobilisation efforts, urging them to sustain their activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
PVPM Targets Nationwide Mobilisation
PVPM describes itself as a political support group focused on grassroots mobilisation, public sensitisation and engagement in support of its political objectives.
With the 2027 general elections approaching, the group says it plans to mobilise members and other supporters across the country for Tinubu’s re-election and the success of APC candidates.
However, the group’s pledge represents its stated political position and mobilisation target; its eventual electoral impact will depend on voter participation and the outcome of the elections.
