BEIJING – China’s outbound direct investment (ODI) across all industries rose to 596.42 billion yuan (approximately 86.53 billion U.S. dollars) in the first six months of 2026, marking a 3.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The latest figures, released by Chinese authorities on Tuesday, indicate continued growth in the country’s overseas investment activities despite ongoing global economic uncertainties.

The steady rise in outbound investment reflects China’s sustained efforts to expand its international business footprint, strengthen economic partnerships, and support Chinese enterprises seeking investment opportunities abroad.

Analysts say the increase underscores the resilience of China’s overseas investment strategy as the country continues to deepen economic cooperation with global markets and diversify its international investment portfolio.

The official data highlights China’s commitment to promoting cross-border investment as part of its broader economic development and global engagement strategy.
