Despite earlier assurances by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that voting would commence by 8:30 a.m. in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, the process experienced delays in parts of Lugbe on Saturday morning.
As of a few minutes to 9:00 a.m., sensitive election materials had yet to depart from the Registration Area Centre (RAC) located at Lugbe Primary School.
Security operatives, including personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and other agencies, were also observed organizing logistics at the Lugbe RAC Centre situated within LEA Primary School.

In a video seen by our correspondent, the Supervisor of the Lugbe RAC Centre confirmed that officials were working to resolve logistical issues and ensure the safe movement of sensitive materials to designated polling units.
The delay raises concerns that voting in several polling units across Lugbe may not commence before 10:00 a.m., contrary to INEC’s earlier 8:30 a.m. schedule.
INEC had repeatedly assured residents of timely commencement of the exercise across the FCT.
As of the time of filing this report, electoral officials were still making arrangements for deployment.
