Civil rights advocate, Comrade Deji Adeyanju, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian Armed Forces for their swift and strategic role in helping to halt the attempted coup in the Republic of Benin, describing the development as “a proud moment for Nigerians who believe in democracy.”

Adeyanju noted that the government’s prompt intervention reinforces Nigeria’s leadership role in West Africa and sends a clear warning to anti-democratic forces across the Sahel.

According to him, “This action should stand as a strong signal to all who seek to undermine democratic governance in the region. Their days are numbered.”

He further urged the Federal Government and the military to apply the same boldness, intelligence, and operational strength towards decisively defeating terrorist groups operating within Nigeria’s borders.

Adeyanju stressed that achieving this would not only secure the nation internally but also cement Nigeria’s standing as a true champion of peace and stability in Africa.

Signed:
Comrade Deji Adeyanju
