The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored electricity transmission through the 132kV Kumbotso–Dan’Agundi line in Kano following the successful completion of scheduled maintenance works.
The company said the line was re-energised at 11:39 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026, allowing the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) to resume normal electricity offtake.
In a statement signed by its management, TCN’s Kano Region confirmed that the restoration would enable KEDCO to distribute electricity to customers across Kano metropolis and surrounding communities.
The temporary interruption was linked to scheduled works on the transmission line.
With the line back in service, electricity distribution to affected areas is expected to return to normal through KEDCO’s network.

TCN said it remained committed to improving the reliability of the national transmission infrastructure and ensuring efficient delivery of bulk electricity to distribution companies.
The restoration is expected to support electricity supply to households, businesses and other consumers in Kano and its environs.
