The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya following a high-level meeting with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the State of Libya, His Excellency Mr. Taher Elbaour.
The bilateral meeting focused on key areas of mutual interest, including migration management, the transfer of prisoners, and the growing security challenges facing the Sahel region.
During the discussions, both Ministers stressed the need for stronger collaboration in addressing irregular migration while promoting regional peace, security, and stability. They also emphasized the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement in tackling shared humanitarian and security concerns affecting both countries and the wider region.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Nigeria and Libya to deepen cooperation through continuous dialogue and joint efforts aimed at addressing common challenges and advancing mutual interests.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
