The Labour Party has extended warm greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir (Eid al-Adha), calling for renewed faith, compassion, and national unity during the sacred festival.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa, the party described Eid-el-Kabir as a reminder of the values of sacrifice, obedience, and devotion as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace Be Upon Him).
The party said the festival goes beyond celebration, urging Muslims to reflect on selflessness, deepen spirituality, and strengthen bonds of love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
According to the statement, the current economic hardship, insecurity, hunger, and rising social tensions in the country make the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir even more relevant.
The Labour Party called on Nigerians to show greater compassion to the less privileged and vulnerable, emphasizing the importance of generosity and mutual understanding across communities.

It also urged political and public office holders to govern with justice, fairness, equity, and empathy, noting that leadership should prioritize the welfare of citizens over personal or political interests.
The party stressed that such values align with good governance principles and the teachings of Islam, which emphasize the protection and wellbeing of the people.
As Muslims celebrate the festival, the party prayed that Allah (SWT) accepts their sacrifices, grants peace to Nigeria, and restores hope to all citizens.
It concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful Eid celebration filled with blessings, mercy, and renewed hope.
