The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has celebrated two of its officers for recording remarkable achievements on the international sporting stage.
The Service commended ASI 1 Azeez Moridiyyah Motunrayo and ASI Kayode Ajilore for their outstanding performances at major global and continental sporting competitions.
Motunrayo emerged World Champion and gold medallist in the W50 Masters Javelin event at the ongoing World Masters Athletics Competition in South Korea.
The achievement places the NIS officer among the leading athletes in her category at the global competition and has brought recognition to both the Service and Nigeria.
In another historic feat, ASI Kayode Ajilore led the Nigerian Continental Beach Volleyball contingent to victory at the African Beach Volleyball Continental Championship.
The Nigerian team secured what the NIS described as the country’s first-ever continental title in the competition.
The victory also earned Nigeria its first-ever Olympic qualification ticket in Beach Volleyball, securing a place at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games (LA28).
The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, CGI Kemi Nanna Nandap, on behalf of the officers and men of the Service, congratulated the two officers on their achievements.
Nandap described the feats as a source of pride for the Nigeria Immigration Service and the country, noting that the accomplishments demonstrate excellence, dedication, resilience and national pride.
The NIS said the achievements further reflect the ability of its officers to excel beyond their professional responsibilities and make meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s international reputation.
The Service congratulated both officers and expressed pride in their representation of Nigeria on the global and continental sporting stages.
