IGP Disu Rolls Out Welfare Bus Initiative for FCT Police Personnel

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched a new welfare-driven transportation initiative aimed at easing mobility challenges faced by its personnel.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, announced the commencement of the Police Welfare Bus Scheme, approved by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

The scheme officially takes off on Monday, April 27, 2026.As part of the initiative, three Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses have been deployed to operate across key routes within Abuja and surrounding areas, providing reliable daily transport for officers and men of the Command.

The buses will operate along the following routes:Goshen–Auta Balefi axis to Area 11 through Masaka, Mararaba, and NyanyaZuba to Area 11 via Madalla, Abubakar Police Barracks, Brick City, Kubwa, Dutse Junction, and the Secretariat. Kuje to Area 11 covering Kuje Barracks, Airport Road, Lugbe, and the Stadium axis.

All buses are scheduled to depart from their respective starting points at 6:15 AM daily.CP Sanusi praised the Inspector-General of Police for prioritizing the welfare of officers, noting that the initiative will significantly improve working conditions, morale, and operational effectiveness.

He encouraged personnel to take full advantage of the scheme, stressing that improved welfare directly translates to better service delivery and discipline within the Force.
