The Labour Party has successfully concluded its nationwide congresses, paving the way for its forthcoming national convention scheduled to hold in Umuahia.
In a statement shared on social media, the party’s Interim National Chairman, Nenadi Usman, congratulated newly elected leaders across ward, local government, and state levels, describing the exercise as largely peaceful and well-coordinated.
She praised party members and stakeholders for their commitment, noting that the orderly conduct of the congresses reflects growing unity and internal discipline within the party.
“The successful conclusion of these congresses is a testament to the dedication of our members and their belief in the democratic ideals of the party,” Usman stated, adding that the process was largely free of disputes in most parts of the country.
The congresses, which form a critical part of the party’s leadership selection process, drew significant participation from members nationwide as the party continues to strengthen its structures ahead of future elections.
With the internal exercise now completed, attention has shifted to the national convention set for April 28 in Umuahia. The gathering is expected to shape the party’s leadership framework and strategic direction.
Usman urged members to maintain the unity and cooperation demonstrated during the congresses as they prepare for the convention.
“All roads now lead to Umuahia,” she said, encouraging stakeholders to sustain the collective spirit that ensured a successful congress process.
