Nigeria Police Force Warns Applicants Against Scams as Recruitment Exam Begins April 28

ABUJA — The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has announced the schedule for the written examination in the ongoing Police Constable Recruitment exercise, urging applicants to remain vigilant against fraud.


According to the Command, the examination organized by the Police Service Commission in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force will take place from Monday, April 28 to Wednesday, April 30, 2026, starting at 7:00 a.m. daily.


For applicants in the Federal Capital Territory, the examination will be conducted at the Police Officers’ Wives Association Secondary School.
Only candidates who successfully passed the earlier physical and credentials screening stage are eligible to participate.

Qualified applicants are required to log on to the official recruitment portal to print their examination invitation cards, which contain details of their specific date, time, and venue.


Candidates are advised to report early to their designated centres and come along with a valid means of identification, including their National Identification Number (NIN) slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission, bearing a clear photograph, as well as their printed examination slip and writing materials.


The approved dress code for the exercise includes a white T-shirt, white shorts, white canvas shoes, and white socks.


The Command reiterated that the recruitment process is completely free and cautioned applicants against dealing with fraudsters or paying money to secure placement. It warned that anyone caught engaging in recruitment scams would be arrested and prosecuted.


Applicants are encouraged to remain law-abiding and strictly adhere to all guidelines throughout the exercise.
