China has completed its largest domestically designed and constructed liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, marking a significant milestone in the country’s shipbuilding industry.
The vessel, named Celsius Georgetown, was delivered on Wednesday in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, and is built for a Danish shipowner.
With a cargo capacity of 180,000 cubic meters, the LNG carrier measures 298.8 meters in length and 48 meters in width, making it the largest of its kind ever built in China.

The development also increases the number of Chinese shipyards capable of constructing LNG carriers to five, further strengthening the country’s growing influence in the global shipbuilding and energy transportation sectors.
