The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has concluded the year with a major staff promotion exercise, approving the elevation of 523 employees across various cadres of the Commission.

The approval was granted by the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of NIMC, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and in accordance with the Public Service Rules (PSR). The promotions formed part of the Commission’s 2025 performance-based reward system for staff who successfully met all stipulated requirements.

This was contained in a statement signed Kayode Adegoke Head, Corporate Communications
on the 13th of December 2025

Accordig to the statement, the breakdown of the promotions shows that two staff members were elevated to the Director cadre (Grade Level 17), while eight officers advanced to the Deputy Director level (GL 16). In addition, thirty-five staff were promoted to the rank of Assistant Director (GL 15), and another thirty-five officers moved to the position of Chief Identity Officer (GL 14).

Further promotions saw one hundred and nine staff advance to Assistant Chief Identity Officer (GL 13), one hundred and thirteen officers promoted to Principal Identity Officer (GL 12), eighty-two staff elevated to Senior Identity Officer (GL 10), and one hundred and thirty officers promoted to Identity Officer I (GL 9).

Congratulating the beneficiaries, Engr. Coker-Odusote described the promotions as a call to greater responsibility and improved service to the nation, while reiterating the Commission’s zero-tolerance policy for extortion. She cautioned staff to uphold professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties.

The NIMC boss also urged all employees to intensify their efforts in 2026, particularly toward the successful implementation of the National Identification Number (NIN) project. She reaffirmed management’s commitment to staff welfare and the dignity of labour, noting that a motivated workforce remains central to achieving the Commission’s mandate.
