Abuja, Nigeria – November 2025 – The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is set to host the maiden edition of its Digital Awareness and Sensitization Forum, a strategic platform aimed at strengthening policies and fostering innovation for a robust digital future in Nigeria.

The forum, themed “Leaving No One Behind: Digital Assets, Equity, and Empowerment”, will hold on November 13, 2025, and is designed to create an enabling environment for Infrastructure for Innovation and Inclusion. The event seeks to bridge gaps between policy frameworks and digital infrastructure to drive national development.

Industry experts, policymakers, and community stakeholders will converge to discuss practical solutions for bridging the digital divide. Sessions will focus on inclusive digital policy design, accessible infrastructure deployment, adaptive digital literacy programs, and strategies to promote affordability and accessibility of digital services.

Africa is home to the world’s youngest population, with 60% under the age of 25, a figure in which Nigeria plays a significant role. The NCC aims to leverage this demographic advantage by fostering opportunities for inclusive participation in the digital economy, while ensuring that underserved communities are not left behind.

The forum will also highlight the NCC’s commitment to protecting over 140 million internet users, as well as its broader objective of using digital innovation to drive equity, empowerment, and national growth. Participants will include representatives from regulatory bodies, academia, the private sector, and development partners.

Key collaborators in this initiative include the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), National Orientation Agency (NOA), National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Association of Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ATCON), FintechNGR, KOICA, Terra Industries, Association of Nigerian Inventors (ANI), Secondary Education Board (SEB), Nigerian University Commission (NUC), Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONWAD), Imose Technologies, and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

The event will feature panel discussions, exhibitions from innovators, fintech organizations, and students, providing a platform to showcase the creativity and potential of Nigeria’s digital ecosystem. For broader access, the forum will be livestreamed nationwide via a dedicated portal at scf.ncc.gov.ng.

The NCC’s inaugural forum signals a milestone in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey, emphasizing inclusion, innovation, and empowerment for all citizens.
