In a robust demonstration of intelligence-driven warfare, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has stepped up its counterterrorism operations with a series of precision airstrikes that neutralised dozens of terrorists and destroyed multiple hideouts across five northern states.

The coordinated strikes, carried out on 9 November 2025, targeted Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) strongholds in Borno State and bandit enclaves in Kwara, Katsina, Zamfara, and Kaduna States.

In Borno, NAF aircraft executed successful interdiction missions in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, hitting ISWAP camps and logistics hubs based on real-time intelligence. The strikes reportedly killed several insurgents and crippled their mobility and operational networks along the Lake Chad Basin.

In Kwara State, precision attacks on Garin Dandi and Chigogo bandit camps inflicted significant casualties, disrupting criminal activities in the region. Similarly, in Katsina, a major terrorist hideout at Zango Hill, Kankara LGA, was destroyed, eliminating a notorious kingpin and his fighters.

Expanding its operational reach, the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA conducted armed reconnaissance missions across Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kaduna States, neutralising terrorists fleeing on motorcycles near Wam Hill along the Birnin Gwari–Funtua axis.

Speaking on the operations, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, said the airstrikes demonstrate the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to deploying smarter, intelligence-led airpower to protect citizens and uphold national security.
