The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong warning against a fraudulent recruitment scheme falsely advertised as an official hiring initiative of the Ministry.
In a statement released Wednesday and signed by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Ministry categorically disassociated itself from the scam, noting that the fake advert—widely circulated on social media and other online platforms was accompanied by a forged signature of the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“The Ministry unequivocally disassociates itself from this misleading and malicious advertisement,” the statement read. “Members of the public are advised to disregard such claims and avoid engaging with individuals or groups behind these fraudulent messages.”
The Ministry emphasized that all official recruitment into the Nigerian Foreign Service is conducted exclusively through the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC). It does not carry out independent recruitment drives nor does it request any form of payment for job applications or appointments.
It urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious recruitment activity to the appropriate authorities.
Reaffirming its commitment to integrity and transparency, the Ministry advised the public to verify all job-related information through official government channels before taking any action.
