NPF Debunks JAMB Security Scare, Unveils Nationwide Protection Plan

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has dismissed reports alleging security threats at some centres ahead of the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the police reassured candidates, parents, and stakeholders of robust security arrangements across the country.

“The Nigeria Police Force is aware of recent unfounded rumours regarding the safety of certain examination centres. These claims are entirely baseless,” the statement read.

The NPF disclosed that comprehensive measures have been put in place, including the deployment of both uniformed and plainclothes personnel to examination centres nationwide.

According to the statement, the security framework also includes routine patrols, thorough perimeter surveillance, and strategically positioned rapid response teams to address any potential threats swiftly.

The police further noted ongoing collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a seamless and secure examination process.
“Any individual or group attempting to disrupt the examination will be identified and dealt with in accordance with the law,” the Force warned.

Candidates were advised to adhere strictly to examination guidelines, arrive early at their designated centres, and report any suspicious activity to security operatives.

The NPF also cautioned the public against spreading unverified information on social media, urging reliance on official updates from the police and JAMB.

Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Force appreciated the cooperation of citizens and stakeholders in maintaining peace during national exercises.
