Comrade Odion Musa, a sports anchorman with Liberty TV and a prominent member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), delivered an impressive performance at the just-concluded Nigeria Athletics Masters Championship in Abuja, securing one gold and one bronze medal.
Competing against athletes representing top institutions including the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, Immigration Service, and various media organizations, Musa emerged victorious in the 110 meters hurdles (M35 category), clinching gold.
He further demonstrated his athletic versatility by contributing to his team’s bronze medal finish in the 4×100m relay final.
Beyond athletics, Musa is widely recognized as a sports all-rounder. He captains the NUJ football team, actively plays table tennis, and remains a dedicated member of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
Off the field, he is also known for his advocacy for ethics in sports, serving as Vice-Chairman of the Sports Integrity Foundation.
The maiden edition of the championship featured notable former Nigerian champions, including Mike Monye, alongside international athletes from Poland and other seasoned competitors, making Musa’s achievement even more remarkable.
