The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving customer experience, reducing service delays and promoting professionalism across its operations.
The commitment was highlighted during the 2026 International Customer Service Week, celebrated by the Service from October 28 to 30 under the theme, “Going the Extra Mile – Creating a Lasting Smile.”
The three-day programme featured activities aimed at strengthening customer relations, encouraging professionalism and promoting efficient service delivery across the Immigration Service.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, stressed the need to make excellent customer service a standard practice in the daily operations of the Service.
She emphasised timely service delivery, prompt resolution of complaints and respectful treatment of customers, while urging officers to uphold integrity and eliminate unnecessary delays.
Nandap also highlighted ongoing reforms aimed at improving customer satisfaction and promoting hostmanship, charging officers to make the quality of service a key measure of their performance.
The Head of Operations, SERVICOM, Presidency, Mrs Ngozi Akinbodewa, commended the Nigeria Immigration Service for developing its SERVICOM Unit, describing the initiative as an important step towards sustaining citizen-focused service delivery.
She noted that International Customer Service Week provides an opportunity to recognise employees who go beyond their regular duties to meet customer expectations and improve service experiences.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Comptroller-General of Immigration on SERVICOM, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration, DCI AM Abubakar, emphasised accountability, responsiveness and compliance with established service standards.
He urged officers to continuously improve their conduct and prioritise customer satisfaction in carrying out their responsibilities.
The closing ceremony also featured award presentations to officers recognised for their outstanding contributions to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
The Nigeria Immigration Service reaffirmed its commitment to efficient, professional and technology-driven service delivery, with improved customer satisfaction remaining a key priority.
The renewed commitment is expected to strengthen public confidence in the Service while supporting its responsibilities in border security and migration management.
