The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it is continuing search and recovery efforts following the accident involving its ATR 42 aircraft, NAF 931, in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
The operation is being led and coordinated under the direction of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, according to a statement issued by the NAF on Wednesday.
The Air Force said the ongoing operation involves personnel and support from several security, emergency management and local agencies.
These include the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police Force, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ondo State Government, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun Corps, Hi-Tech Construction Company, local authorities, community leaders and volunteers.
The NAF said the Chief of the Air Staff commended personnel involved in the operation, as well as the various organisations and individuals supporting the search and recovery efforts.

Aneke described the collaboration as an example of inter-agency cooperation and collective national service during a difficult period.
He reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to conducting the recovery operation diligently and safely, while working closely with relevant stakeholders.
The Air Force also assured the public that updates would be provided as the operation progresses.
The NAF expressed appreciation to Nigerians and other stakeholders for their solidarity, prayers and support during the ongoing search and recovery efforts.
