The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its air operation has disrupted the activities of suspected kidnappers in Ogbadigbo Local Government Area of Benue State, near the Enugu–Benue boundary.
The operation was conducted as a close air support mission for ground forces engaged in efforts to tackle criminal elements operating in the area.
According to the NAF, the mission successfully disrupted the suspected kidnappers’ activities and supported the advance of surface troops.
Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation was carried out as part of ongoing coordinated efforts to deny criminal groups freedom of movement and action.
Ejodame also disclosed that after completing the mission, the pilot made a precautionary landing about 10 nautical miles from the airfield while returning to base.
He explained that the decision was taken as a professional safety measure in line with established operational procedures following combat missions.

The helicopter has since returned safely to base, the NAF said.
The service reaffirmed its commitment to sustained operations against criminal elements and continued close air support for ground troops across affected communities.
The NAF said the latest operation further demonstrates its resolve to strengthen joint air-and-ground operations aimed at restoring safety and security in communities affected by criminal activities.
