The Nigeria Police Force has recorded major operational successes in its ongoing fight against crime, with the arrest of 50 suspects and the recovery of high-grade weapons and other exhibits across multiple states.
This was disclosed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placide, during a press briefing held at the Force Intelligence DepartmentāIntelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) Headquarters in Guzape, Abuja.
According to the Police, the achievements were recorded between January and April 2026, following coordinated intelligence-led operations targeting gunrunning networks, kidnapping syndicates, armed robbery gangs, and other criminal elements.
In total, operatives recovered 17 rifles of various models, 111 rounds of live ammunition, magazines, cartridges, communication devices, vehicles, and mobile phones linked to criminal activities.

- Arrest of Gunrunning Suspect
Operatives arrested Musa Jibrin for criminal conspiracy and unlawful possession of firearms. An FNC rifle and an empty magazine were recovered, while efforts continue to track down his fleeing accomplice. - Armed Robbery Syndicate Busted in Benue
Four suspects Anuga Emmanuel, Peter John, Francis Abba Idoko, and Ohepo Ogwuche were arrested for operating fake police checkpoints used to rob unsuspecting victims. Recovered items include locally fabricated firearms and a Police Mobile Force uniform used as a disguise. - āOne Chanceā and Kidnap Syndicate Arrested in Abuja
Four suspects linked to abduction, robbery, and extortion along the Dei-Dei/Kubwa axis of the FCT were apprehended. Recovered exhibits include a vehicle, mobile phones, and cash belonging to victims. - Killers of Three Policemen Arrested in Taraba
Three suspects were arrested in connection with the killing of three police officers in Donga LGA of Taraba State. Investigations revealed their involvement in broader violent attacks in the region. - Major Crackdown on Armed Gang and Terror Network
In one of the most significant operations, 33 suspects linked to terrorism, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and armed robbery were arrested across Kwara and Kogi States.
Recovered exhibits include AK-47 rifles, magazines, live ammunition, communication devices, and an anti-aircraft launcher.
The operation followed intelligence gathering after an attack on a church in Kwara State, with arrests made across multiple locations. - Arrest for Illegal Possession of Firearms
A suspect, Nasiru Ibrahim, was arrested in Benue State with an AK-47 rifle and ammunition. He reportedly acquired the weapon from a known bandit, who is currently being tracked by authorities. - Car Theft Suspect Arrested in Abuja
Chimezie Uzo was arrested for car burglary and theft near a magistrate court in Abuja. He allegedly used a fabricated master key to break into parked vehicles, while his accomplice remains at large.

The Police emphasized their commitment to strengthening intelligence gathering, inter-agency collaboration, and proactive operations to combat crime nationwide.
