The Family Rebuilders Outreach has brought relief and excitement to children and families in Kapwa Village, Lugbe District, Abuja, through a back-to-school outreach programme aimed at supporting vulnerable children and strengthening family values.

The outreach, led by Mrs. Beatrice Anachuna, founder of Family Rebuilders Outreach, was held on Saturday at Kapwa Community, where vulnerable children received school bags, books, pencils, biros, clothes, shoes, reading materials, whiteboards and other educational items to help them prepare for the new school term.

The event was marked by excitement, dancing, laughter and celebration as children and community members welcomed the gesture.

Speaking during the outreach, Mrs. Anachuna encouraged mothers in the community to prioritise the education of their children and provide the guidance and support needed for them to succeed.

She urged parents not only to enrol their children in school but also to identify at least one meaningful area in which they could actively support each child to develop confidence, skills and a pathway towards a successful future.

Anachuna stressed that parents have an important role to play in shaping the character, education and future of their children, noting that consistent encouragement and parental involvement can make a significant difference in a child’s development.

She also placed particular emphasis on the safety and wellbeing of girls, urging mothers to ensure that their girl children are always in safe and trusted environments.

According to her, protecting children, especially girls, from unsafe situations requires constant parental attention, proper guidance and responsible supervision.

The outreach also included a visit to the traditional ruler of Kapwa Village, His Royal Highness Emmanuel J. Gbewu, who welcomed the Family Rebuilders team and prayed for the organisation and its members.

The organisation said the initiative reflects its broader commitment to rebuilding families and strengthening communities through advocacy, mentorship, welfare support and community engagement.

Family Rebuilders Outreach is founded on the belief that strong and stable families are essential to building a healthy and thriving society.

Its activities include women empowerment, humanitarian support, family guidance, counselling, reconciliation support for disintegrated homes and values-based mentorship.

The organisation has also undertaken welfare initiatives targeting women, vulnerable individuals and families, including community visits and support programmes.

Expressing her appreciation for the outreach, Mrs. Zugwai Anfani, a community mother, thanked Family Rebuilders Outreach for remembering the children of Kapwa and bringing educational materials to them.

She prayed for the organisation and its team, asking that their efforts to support vulnerable families continue to grow.

Another beneficiary and community member, Mrs. Ogochukwu Favour, also commended the initiative.

Favour, who said she is a market trader, explained that although she was unable to receive basic education herself, she is determined to ensure that her children have access to better educational opportunities.

She said she would continue to work hard to give her children the education and support they need to build better futures.

The outreach ended on a joyful note, with children and residents celebrating the support while expressing gratitude to the Family Rebuilders team for bringing educational assistance and encouragement to the community.
