The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has strengthened its engagement with key stakeholders in Nigeria’s telecommunications industry through courtesy and familiarisation visits to the headquarters of Airtel Nigeria and IHS Towers in Lagos State.
The visits, which took place on October 21, 2026, involved the NCC’s Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management, Ms. Rimini Makama, alongside representatives of the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON).
During the visit to Airtel Nigeria, Makama was received alongside Engr. Gbenga Adebayo, President of ALTON, by Mr. Dinesh Balsingh, Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria.
The engagement provided an opportunity for representatives of the commission, the industry association and the telecommunications operator to meet as part of ongoing stakeholder relations within the sector.
At the headquarters of IHS Towers, Makama and Adebayo met with Mr. Kazeem Oladepo, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of IHS Towers.
The meetings highlight the NCC’s engagement with major industry players and telecommunications infrastructure providers, whose operations form an important part of Nigeria’s communications ecosystem.

ALTON represents licensed telecommunications operators in Nigeria, while Airtel Nigeria provides telecommunications services and IHS Towers operates telecommunications infrastructure.
The NCC is responsible for regulating Nigeria’s telecommunications industry, including overseeing operators and supporting the development of the sector.
However, the NCC’s photo announcement did not provide details of specific resolutions, policy commitments or agreements reached during the visits.
The development comes amid the importance of cooperation among regulators, telecommunications operators and infrastructure providers in sustaining an efficient and reliable communications sector in Nigeria.
