China will take over the rotating presidency of BRICS and host the 19th BRICS Summit in 2027, Chinese President Xi Jinping has announced.
Xi made the announcement on Saturday while addressing the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India.
In his address, the Chinese president called on BRICS countries to “stand on the right side of history” and play a stronger role in shaping global affairs.

Xi urged member countries to promote innovative development, maintain peace and stability, encourage mutual learning among civilizations and improve global governance.
He also called on BRICS nations to work toward a more just and equitable international order and strengthen cooperation in building what he described as a community with a shared future for humanity.
The 2027 summit will place China at the centre of the BRICS bloc’s rotating leadership as member countries continue to expand cooperation on economic, political and global development issues.
