Abuja, Nigeria — October 27, 2025

The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Muhammad Aminu Sani, an 18-year-old Nigerian, for making aviation history by earning a United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot Licence from Phoenix East Aviation (PEA), Daytona Beach, Florida.

This was contained in a statement e-signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) on October 27th, 2025

Dabiri-Erewa described Sani’s milestone as “a shining example of the brilliance, resilience, and determination of young Nigerians breaking global barriers and redefining excellence.”

According to her, Sani’s achievement at such a young age underscores the limitless potential of Nigerian youths when provided with the right support, mentorship, and opportunity.

“Muhammad’s story is a powerful reminder that Nigerian youths can thrive anywhere in the world when their dreams are nurtured. His discipline and focus make him a true ambassador of hope for our nation,” Dabiri-Erewa stated.

Sani completed his intensive flight training programme in less than 12 months, a remarkable accomplishment achieved without a single checkride failure a rare feat even among experienced aviation trainees.

Speaking on his success, Sani said:

“Becoming a pilot has always been my childhood dream. Today, I’m proud to say I’m living that dream and enjoying every moment of it. I hope my story inspires others to chase their goals with determination and never give up.”

Born and raised in Abuja, Sani turned 18 just last week. He attended Al-Hidaayah Academy for his secondary education and later graduated with distinction in Economics Foundation from The Regent College, Abuja, before proceeding to the United States for flight training.

At Phoenix East Aviation one of the world’s top FAA Part 141 flight schools Sani trained under challenging conditions, including night flights, instrument navigation, and multi-engine operations, while maintaining an impressive 97% average score in all FAA written examinations.

Dabiri-Erewa applauded his exceptional discipline and focus, describing his success as “a source of national pride and a beacon of inspiration for millions of young Nigerians across the world.”

She further encouraged him to stay consistent and continue to make Nigeria proud as he pursues his dream of joining a leading international airline and representing the country on the global aviation stage.
