The Executive Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government Area, Hon. Sunday Ajunwa, has intensified efforts to curb the rising wave of insecurity in Orokam, Benue State.
Disturbed by recent criminal activities in the area, Hon. Ajunwa on Thursday, August 15, 2025, held a high-level security meeting with the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Emenari Ifeanyi.
Following the meeting, CP Ifeanyi ordered the redeployment of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Orokam and immediately dispatched a tactical squad to the community with clear instructions to hunt down kidnappers and other criminal elements terrorizing residents.
Security operatives, including the police tactical unit and the Nigerian Army, have since begun combing forests and suspected hideouts in and around Orokam. Hon. Ajunwa also pledged continuous collaboration with local security outfits and traditional rulers to strengthen community vigilance and support the ongoing operation.
“This renewed synergy will leave no hiding place for criminals in Orokam. The safety and peace of our people remain my top priority,” Hon. Ajunwa assured.
The Chairman’s decisive action is widely seen as another milestone in his leadership, reflecting his unwavering commitment to making Ogbadibo a secure and peaceful local government area.
