The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released popular social media influencer, Martins Innocent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
VDM was handed over to his legal representative, Deji Adeyanju, on Tuesday, following concerns raised over an alleged delay in issuing his formal bail documents.
His release was also confirmed by activist and former Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, who took to his X handle to share the news.
“Thanks to the unrelenting efforts of all. @thatverydarkman has been released from unjust detention at the @officialEFCC. He is with his ebullient lawyer, @adeyanjudeji,” Sowore tweeted.
VDM’s detention had sparked public interest, with many calling for his immediate release. His lawyer, Adeyanju, expressed appreciation for the support and pressure that contributed to securing VDM’s freedom.
