Residents and businesses in parts of Effurun and Warri, Delta State, may experience a brief electricity interruption on Wednesday and Thursday, October 28 and 29, as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out planned maintenance at its Effurun transmission substation.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, October 27, TCN said the annual preventive maintenance would take place at its 132/33kV Effurun Transmission Substation between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on both days.
The exercise is intended to enable contractors to safely commission a fire protection system installed on the station’s 100MVA 132/33kV Transformer T2.
According to TCN, the work will require essential switching operations by its engineers, resulting in a brief power interruption of approximately 20 minutes.

The affected electricity distribution feeders operated by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) include Refinery 1 and 2, Effurun, PSLM and Warri.
TCN explained that the temporary interruption would allow engineers to carry out the necessary switching operations to support the commissioning process.
The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for any inconvenience the exercise might cause.
Residents and businesses are advised to take note of the scheduled maintenance and make necessary arrangements for the brief interruption.
