The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has enrolled 2,296 applicants within the first six operational days of its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom.

The exercise, which commenced on September 7, 2026, is being conducted at special intervention centres in London and Manchester to provide passport services to Nigerians with confirmed appointments.

According to the NIS, 1,709 applicants were enrolled at the Manchester Centre, while 587 were processed at the London Centre during the first week.

The daily enrolment figures across both centres were recorded as follows:

  • September 7: 245 applicants
  • September 8: 401 applicants
  • September 9: 396 applicants
  • September 10: 429 applicants
  • September 11: 406 applicants
  • September 12: 419 applicants

The Immigration Service said the figures reflect sustained turnout and the steady processing of applicants with confirmed appointments.

As part of efforts to monitor service delivery, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap, undertook a working visit to the intervention centres in Manchester and London.

The visit, according to the Service, was aimed at assessing the exercise firsthand, engaging with members of the Nigerian community and ensuring that applicants receive efficient and seamless passport services.

The NIS also disclosed that passport production and dispatch for applicants who have completed enrolment have commenced and are progressing steadily.

The intervention exercise will continue at the London and Manchester centres, with applicants holding confirmed appointments assured of service.

The Service urged applicants to continue cooperating with officials at the centres to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of the exercise.

The Nigeria Immigration Service also expressed appreciation to Nigerians in the UK for their patience, understanding and cooperation throughout the intervention exercise.
