Residents and businesses in parts of Akwa Ibom State are expected to experience a six-hour electricity disruption following scheduled maintenance on the Uyo-Itu 132kV Transmission Line by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
The maintenance exercise is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
According to TCN, the exercise will temporarily prevent the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) from receiving electricity for distribution to customers in the affected areas.
The communities and locations expected to experience the disruption include Eket, Ikot Abasi, Etinan, Ikot Ekpene, Onna and Uyo Complex.
The maintenance is part of the company’s efforts to carry out scheduled work on the transmission infrastructure.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption.

The company appealed for the understanding of residents and businesses as its maintenance crew carries out the exercise.
Electricity supply to the affected locations is expected to resume after the scheduled maintenance, subject to the successful completion of the work.
