Thousands of supporters gathered in Abuja on Tuesday as the Tinubu Mega Group (TMG) organised a large-scale “National Unity Rally” in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term ambition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The rally drew participants from across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), bringing together more than 1,500 organisations, including professional bodies, civil society groups, youth associations, women groups, traders, artisans, grassroots mobilisers, and religious leaders.

During the event, the coalition announced what it described as the endorsement of “20 million Nigerians” in support of President Tinubu’s re-election bid, insisting that the administration’s economic and structural reforms should continue beyond 2027.

Speaking at the rally, the National Spokesperson of the Tinubu Mega Group, Tijani Ali Danjuma, said the gathering reflected the collective desire of Nigerians for continuity, stability, and national development.

According to him, despite prevailing economic challenges and global pressures, the Tinubu administration has shown determination in addressing long-standing national issues.

Danjuma highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, investments in local refining, economic stabilisation efforts, social intervention programmes, and reforms aimed at strengthening local governance and attracting investments.

“The student loan programme has created new opportunities for Nigerian youths. Government is also making efforts to strengthen the naira, improve food production, and reposition the economy for sustainable growth,” he said.

He added that the turnout at the rally demonstrated that support for President Tinubu cuts across regions, religions, and sectors of the country.

“To those spreading false narratives and attempting to divide Nigerians, our message is simple — the people have spoken. Nigerians are choosing continuity over confusion and progress over propaganda,” Danjuma stated.

Also addressing the gathering, Dr. Tabuko Kennedy, who spoke on behalf of Nigerian professionals, said experts across major sectors of the economy support the administration because reforms require consistency and continuity to succeed.

Representing doctors, lawyers, engineers, academics, entrepreneurs, creatives, artisans, and technocrats, Kennedy warned that abandoning ongoing reforms midway could negatively affect national development.

He noted that President Tinubu has demonstrated commitment to rebuilding the economy, strengthening infrastructure, boosting revenue generation, supporting local industries, and creating opportunities for young Nigerians.

“As professionals, we understand that difficult reforms may not produce immediate results, but abandoning them halfway can damage national progress,” he said.

Kennedy further declared that “there is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027,” a statement that attracted loud cheers from supporters at the rally.

Representing the Christian community, Bishop Kola Oyedepo described Nigeria’s current phase as a period requiring patience, sacrifice, wisdom, and collective responsibility.

The cleric urged Nigerians not to allow division and destructive politics to derail efforts aimed at rebuilding the nation.

According to him, reforms introduced under the Tinubu administration, including economic restructuring, infrastructure development, student loan support, and efforts to improve local refining capacity, are necessary steps toward national growth.

“Every wise builder must first lay a solid foundation. Nigeria is currently rebuilding and restructuring for a stronger future,” he stated.
He also urged citizens to continue praying for the country and its leaders while reiterating support for continuity in governance.

Similarly, Islamic cleric Sheikh Abubakar Mustapha called for patience, unity, and support for ongoing national development efforts.

The cleric acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Nigerians but stressed that meaningful reforms require time, perseverance, and courageous leadership.

He commended the administration’s focus on infrastructure, education support initiatives, governance reforms, and local refining projects aimed at improving national productivity.

“We must not allow division, hatred, or bitter politics to weaken our country. Instead, we should support peace, unity, and responsible leadership,” he said.

Observers described the rally as one of the largest political mobilisation events held in Abuja in recent months, with participants displaying banners and placards bearing inscriptions such as “20 Million Nigerians Support Tinubu,” “Continuity for National Development,” and “One Voice, One Vision, One Nigeria.”

The rally ended peacefully with prayers for national unity, economic recovery, and sustained democratic governance in Nigeria.
