The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says significant progress has been recorded in the ongoing rehabilitation of the 330kV Kainji–Birnin Kebbi Transmission Line following the recent collapse of tower T367 along the transmission corridor.
TCN said restoration work is currently ongoing at the affected location in Yauri, where engineers and technical personnel are working to restore the damaged section of the transmission line.
According to the company, the collapsed transmission tower has been completely dismantled and decommissioned.
The conductors and skywire have also been properly aligned and prepared for the next phase of the restoration process.
TCN said an Emergency Restoration System (ERS) tower has been transported to the site and is ready for installation.
The installation will be followed by cable stringing and other associated works required to restore the affected section of the transmission line.
The company said its engineers and technical teams remain on site and are working towards completing the rehabilitation as quickly as possible.
TCN acknowledged the impact of the incident on electricity consumers and other stakeholders and thanked them for their patience and understanding.
The company assured the public that all necessary efforts were being made to restore the transmission line and return normal bulk electricity transmission as soon as possible.
