Nigeria’s foreign policy continues to prioritise global partnerships that drive economic expansion and strengthen regional stability, as demonstrated by a high-level meeting between the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, H.E. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa Spokesperson Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja

According to the statement, the engagement, which took place on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2025, focused on advancing bilateral cooperation across critical sectors. Both leaders explored opportunities in defence collaboration, economic investment, and other areas of mutual interest aimed at strengthening long-term relations between Nigeria and Qatar.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to deepen strategic cooperation, expand economic frontiers, and promote regional and global stability.
