The Federal Government has renewed its push to attract investment into Nigeria’s digital infrastructure as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s digital resilience and build a more competitive digital economy.
Representing the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, the Director of the National Frequency Management Council, Adetunji Adeyemo, said reliable, affordable, resilient and accessible digital infrastructure remained critical to Nigeria’s economic transformation.
Adeyemo said the government had identified infrastructure, policy and innovation, entrepreneurship, and capital as key areas requiring strategic attention to accelerate growth in the digital economy.
He made the remarks at a two-day forum bringing together key stakeholders to examine investment opportunities in Nigeria’s digital connectivity sector.
The forum attracted policymakers, investors, development finance institutions, telecommunications operators, infrastructure providers, technology companies and development partners.
Discussions at the forum are focused on opportunities for expanding digital connectivity across the country and mobilising investment needed to support the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.
The government’s position underscores the growing importance of digital infrastructure to economic activity, innovation, entrepreneurship and access to digital services across Nigeria.
