The House of Representatives has approved a total of N479.508 billion as the 2026 budget for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
The approval was granted during plenary at the National Assembly in Abuja following the consideration and adoption of the report presented by the House Committee on Communications.
Presenting the report, the Committee Chairman, Hon. Peter Akpatason, said the approved sum would be drawn from the NCC’s Statutory Revenue Fund for the 2026 financial year.

A breakdown of the budget shows that N124.44 billion is allocated for recurrent expenditure, while N26.77 billion is earmarked for capital projects.
Additionally, N32.01 billion is set aside for special projects, and N20 billion will be transferred to the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) to support telecommunications access across underserved areas.
The Commission is also expected to remit N276.27 billion to the Federal Government within the fiscal year ending December 31, 2026.
The approval underscores the National Assembly’s continued support for the telecommunications sector as a key driver of Nigeria’s digital economy and revenue generation.
