The Kano State Police Command and the Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services have pledged stronger cooperation to tackle crime and maintain peace across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, gave the assurance when he received the newly appointed Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services, Air Commodore Salisu Yusha’u (Rtd.), during a working visit to the Police Command Headquarters in Bompai, Kano.
The visit focused on strengthening collaboration between the police and the state government in addressing security challenges and protecting lives and property.
Yusha’u commended Bakori for his efforts in maintaining law and order and safeguarding residents across the state.
He also expressed condolences over the deaths of police officers killed along the Sokoto-Zamfara axis and the passing of SP Salisu Wakili, praying for the repose of their souls.

The new Internal Security Commissioner assured the police of the ministry’s support, stressing that maintaining peace and stability requires cooperation among security agencies and other stakeholders.
Responding, Bakori described the visit as a demonstration of the strong working relationship between the Kano State Government and the Police Command.
He called on politicians and residents to avoid hate speech, particularly as political campaigns and activities gather momentum, warning that inflammatory statements could undermine peace and security.
The police commissioner also urged members of the public to provide timely and credible information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime and responding to threats.
Bakori further emphasised the importance of community participation in policing, noting that effective security cannot be achieved without public cooperation.
Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to closer inter-agency collaboration and sustained efforts to protect lives, property and promote development across Kano State.
