The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has commended officers and personnel participating in the ongoing Eid el-Kabir Special Patrol Operations for their professionalism, dedication and outstanding performance across the country.

The commendation followed positive reports from supervisory teams deployed from the FRSC National Headquarters to monitor the nationwide operations.

In a statement issued by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the Corps Marshal said the commitment and gallantry displayed by personnel had contributed significantly to safer highways and improved traffic flow during the festive period.

Mohammed expressed satisfaction with the conduct and operational efficiency of officers and men on duty, urging them to sustain the momentum throughout the special operations.

According to him, the achievements recorded so far were made possible through the dedication of FRSC personnel and the cooperation of road users nationwide.

He appealed to motorists and other road users to continue supporting the Corps by obeying traffic rules and complying with all road safety advisories issued during the festive season.

While reviewing the progress of the nationwide operations, the Corps Marshal expressed confidence in the capacity of personnel to sustain the gains already achieved.

However, he raised concerns over persistent traffic violations by some motorists, warning against speeding, dangerous overtaking, overloading, use of mobile phones while driving and other offences that continue to cause road crashes on Nigerian highways.

Mohammed urged motorists to remain patient, disciplined and safety conscious while travelling, stressing that road safety remains a collective responsibility.

He reassured Nigerians of the Corps’ commitment to ensuring a safe and hitch-free post Eid el-Kabir celebration through sustained enforcement, public enlightenment campaigns, traffic management and prompt rescue services across the nation’s highways.
