📍Abuja — The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has received a major boost in its crime-fighting efforts following the donation of 250 litres of petrol by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) to support the newly established Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU).
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, received the PCRC National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Garki II, Abuja, on April 23, 2026. The delegation included PCRC members from national, zonal, and state levels.
Speaking during the visit, Olaniyan commended the FCT Police Command for establishing the Violent Crime Response Unit in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police. He noted that the unit is expected to improve rapid response to emergencies, enhance operational efficiency, and boost public confidence in policing across the FCT.

As part of its support, the PCRC donated 250 litres of petrol to aid the smooth take-off of the unit, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening community-police collaboration for improved security.
In his response, CP Sanusi expressed appreciation for the support, describing it as a demonstration of strong partnership between the police and the community. He assured that the new unit would operate professionally and in strict adherence to the directives of the Inspector-General of Police.
