The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, has extended Eid-El-Kabir greetings to personnel and civilian staff of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), their families, and Nigerians across the country.

In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the 2026 Eid-El-Kabir celebration, General Oluyede described the festival as a symbol of sacrifice, faith, obedience, and devotion, reflecting the timeless example of Prophet Ibrahim.

The Defence Chief noted that the values of sacrifice, patriotism, unity, and love for one another remain critical to building peace, stability, and national development in Nigeria.

General Oluyede paid tribute to troops of the Armed Forces currently involved in various military operations across the country, applauding their courage, resilience, and sacrifices in defending the nation against insecurity.

He prayed for divine protection, strength, and success for military personnel while also appreciating the collaboration and support of other security and intelligence agencies working to address security challenges nationwide.

The CDS further thanked Nigerians for their continued trust, prayers, and support for the Armed Forces, assuring citizens that the military remains fully committed to restoring lasting peace and security across the country through a Whole-of-Government Approach.

General Oluyede also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for the Armed Forces, expressing confidence that Nigeria would continue to advance in unity, peace, and prosperity under the President’s leadership.

He concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and blessed Eid-El-Kabir celebration while praying for continued progress for both the Armed Forces and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
