A northern Christian support group, Arewa Christians for Tinubu 2027 (ACT-2027), has announced a one-day fasting and prayer session for President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group also plans to dedicate its national secretariat in Abuja on Saturday, October 24, 2026, as it prepares to expand its activities across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement dated October 22, the group’s National Coordinator, Ambassador Ayuba Jacob Ngbako, said the fasting and prayers were intended to seek divine intervention for the president and the country ahead of the 2027 campaign season.
The secretariat dedication is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Ogun House, No. 74, Central Business District, Abuja.
Among the expected guests are Right Reverend Stephen Tunde Adegbite, Archbishop John Praise Daniel, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, Reverend Kure Wumanyi and Bishop Jonathan Maaji.
Religious leaders, women and youth representatives, development partners and members of the press have also been invited to the ceremony.
Group Outlines Development Plans
According to ACT-2027, the dedication will mark the beginning of a new phase of activities aimed at linking faith with community development across Northern Nigeria.

The group said its planned programmes would focus on educational support, skills acquisition, empowerment initiatives, humanitarian services, peacebuilding and civic education.
ACT-2027 describes itself as an umbrella development platform representing Arewa Christians across the 19 northern states and the FCT.
It said it remained committed to supporting development initiatives, promoting peaceful coexistence and encouraging civic engagement across the region.
Political Activities Gather Pace Ahead of 2027
The announcement comes as political groups and support organisations begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
ACT-2027’s declaration of support for Tinubu signals its intention to mobilise around the president as the country approaches another election cycle.
However, the statement did not provide details of the group’s planned campaign activities beyond the proposed secretariat dedication and its stated development programmes.
The extent of its mobilisation across the northern states and the FCT remains to be seen.
