📍Abuja | Media Report
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has formally decorated 30 senior officers recently promoted to the ranks of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and Commissioner of Police (CP), as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership within the Force.

The decoration ceremony, held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, followed the promotion of 84 senior officers, including 54 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs).
In his address, IGP Disu described the promotions as a recognition of merit, discipline, and proven competence, stressing that the elevation goes beyond reward to serve as a strategic investment in leadership capacity within the Nigeria Police Force.

He charged the newly decorated officers to lead with integrity and professionalism, emphasizing a strict policy of zero tolerance for indiscipline, corruption, and dereliction of duty.
Reaffirming his vision for a modern and people-focused police force, the IGP highlighted the importance of human rights compliance and community engagement as core operational principles.

As part of efforts to deepen leadership capacity, Disu announced that all newly promoted AIGs will participate in a mandatory Strategic Leadership Retreat scheduled to commence on March 24, 2026. The retreat is being organised in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme and is aimed at promoting transformational leadership and modern policing standards.

Among those elevated to the rank of AIG are Christopher Ado Emmanuel, Joseph Eribo, Miller Gajere Dantawaye, Henry Ifeanyi Uche, Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo, Mohammed Dahiru, Dankombo Faling Morris, Bello Shehu, Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, Ahmed Musa, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, Simeon Udofia Akpanudom, and Haruna Olufemi.

Also decorated at the ceremony were newly promoted Commissioners of Police, including Abdulrahim Audu Shaibu, Sarah Idowu Ehindero, and Rebbecca Uchenna Okereke.

The event attracted high-profile dignitaries such as Ovie Omo-Agege, Patience Jonathan, retired IGP Sunday Ehindero, and Placid Njoku, among others.
