Proceedings in the case involving the Inspector General of Police and former senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo, alongside Nafisa Mohammed, were on Monday adjourned by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Gwagwalada. The case, marked CR/635/24 and presided over by Honourable Justice I. Mohammed, was scheduled for cross-examination.

At the resumed hearing, counsel to the prosecution, Rotimi I. Oyedepo (SAN), Director of Public Prosecution, informed the court that the matter had been formally taken over by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF).

He further disclosed that a formal request had been made to obtain the record of proceedings to enable the prosecution adequately review the case file and ensure effective handling of the matter.

Following this development, the prosecution sought an adjournment to allow sufficient time to study the case records.Counsel to the defendants, including M. J. Numa (SAN) for the first defendant and E. A. Adewuyi for the second defendant, did not oppose the application, describing it as reasonable under the circumstances.

After considering the submissions, Justice I. Mohammed granted the request and adjourned the case to April 20, 2026, for continuation of cross-examination.
