The Nigerian striker netted twice in the first half to guide his side to victory and equal a 14-year club scoring record. With the brace, the Super Eagles forward has now scored in seven consecutive league matches, matching the feat set by Turkish forward Burak Yılmaz during the 2011/12 season.
Across all competitions, Onuachu’s scoring run has stretched to nine consecutive matches. His latest goals take his league tally to 20 in just 22 appearances this season, marking the fifth time in his professional career he has reached the 20-goal mark in a single campaign.
Onuachu’s goals have been central to Trabzonspor’s performances this season under head coach Fatih Tekke. The striker has been directly involved in nearly 40 per cent of the club’s league goals, helping the team maintain third position on the league table and remain in contention for qualification to the UEFA Champions League
The encounter took an early turn in the eighth minute when Dorukhan Toköz of Kayserispor received a straight red card for a dangerous challenge, reducing the home side to ten men.

Trabzonspor eventually capitalised on their numerical advantage late in the first half. In stoppage time of the opening period, Wagner Pina delivered a precise cross that was met by Onuachu’s powerful header to give the visitors the lead.
Five minutes later, the Nigerian striker doubled the advantage from the penalty spot after a foul inside the area.
Trabzonspor extended their lead in the 53rd minute when Kayserispor goalkeeper Bilal Bayazit turned the ball into his own net while attempting to deal with sustained pressure.
Despite playing with ten men, Kayserispor managed a late consolation goal in added time through Joshua Brienet, but the result had already been decided.
The latest performance further underlines Onuachu’s consistency in front of goal and reinforces his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most reliable goal scorers in European football.
