As Nigerians mark Valentine’s Day with expressions of love and goodwill, the Nigeria Police Force has reassured citizens of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

In a goodwill message to the public, the Force noted that while families and friends celebrate the season, officers remain on duty across the country to protect what matters most citizens and their loved ones.

The Police emphasised that security personnel are actively deployed to maintain order and respond to any incidents that may arise during the celebrations.

Valentine’s Day, traditionally observed as a time to express affection and strengthen social bonds, often witnesses increased public gatherings, nightlife activities and intercity travel. Security agencies typically heighten surveillance and patrols during such periods to ensure public safety.

The Force urged members of the public to celebrate responsibly and cooperate with law enforcement officers, while promptly reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

It reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and security before, during and after the festivities.
