The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has announced plans to host a national public dialogue to enhance citizens’ understanding of Nigeria’s forthcoming tax reform set for implementation in January 2026.

In a statement issued by the agency, the event, tagged “NOA Dialogue Xspace,” will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. on X (formerly Twitter) via the agency’s official handle, @NOA_Nigeria.

The dialogue, themed “Simplifying Nigeria’s Tax System: Building Public Trust and Inclusive Growth Through Transparent Fiscal Reforms,” aims to break down the complexities of the new tax system, promote transparency, and build citizens’ confidence in the government’s fiscal policies.

Lead discussants at the virtual event include Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, and Michael Chibuzo, a public affairs analyst. The session will be hosted by Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, Director General of NOA, with Tolu Meduna, the agency’s Special Assistant on Media, serving as moderator.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask tax-related questions, learn proper filing procedures, and gain insights on how to comply with the new tax requirements while avoiding penalties.

The NOA described the dialogue as a “unique platform” for citizens to engage directly with experts, fostering greater public trust and participation in Nigeria’s evolving fiscal reform process.
