— Seizes 384.88kg of ‘Loud’ in Lagos Club Raid, Arrests Owner Pretty Mike, Manager
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a stern warning to night club operators, event organisers, and fun seekers over the growing trend of drug parties across the country, describing the act as a criminal offence punishable under Nigerian law.

According to the statement, the warning followed a recent NDLEA operation that uncovered an organized drug party at Proxy Night Club, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. The raid, which took place on the night of Saturday, October 25, into the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, led to the arrest of over 100 attendees, including the club’s owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu (popularly known as Pretty Mike), and his manager, Joachin Millary.
Operation Details
According to the NDLEA, operatives had received intelligence about the planned event, which was openly advertised with flyers inviting guests to “party with drugs.” Undercover agents monitored the facility, conducted pre-purchases of illicit substances, and gathered evidence of on-site drug sales and consumption.
“For four hours between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m., our operatives observed drug use and trafficking inside the club before executing the operation that led to the arrests,” the Agency stated.
A total of 384.886 kilograms of Canadian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, alongside other illicit substances, were recovered from the club’s store.
NDLEA’s Position
Describing the event as an “audacious affront to law enforcement,” the NDLEA condemned the organizers for using entertainment as a cover for criminal activity.
“Any gathering organized for the purpose of consuming, distributing, or abusing illicit substances constitutes a crime under the NDLEA Act. Such drug parties are serious narcotic offences and will be prosecuted accordingly,” the Agency warned.
All attendees were profiled, counselled, and released within hours in line with best international practices, while Pretty Mike and his manager remain in custody. The Agency added that it will seek the forfeiture of the Proxy Night Club to the Federal Government as part of ongoing investigations.
Public Advisory
The NDLEA urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious gatherings that promote drug use.
“These illicit drug parties not only fuel substance abuse among our youth but also serve as recruitment hubs for new addicts, undermining national health and security efforts,” the statement read.
It further cautioned hotel owners, event centre managers, and landlords that any property found to be used knowingly for drug-related activities risks confiscation and forfeiture to the Federal Government.
The Agency appealed to parents, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to partner with law enforcement in protecting the nation from the scourge of drug abuse.
