Nigeria has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Equatorial Guinea, emphasizing collaboration across critical sectors such as energy, trade, maritime security, education, and regional integration.
In a statement issued on Sunday, October 12, 2025, by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, anipr, Nigeria acknowledged the longstanding and cordial ties between both nations, describing them as a vital pillar of partnership in the Gulf of Guinea and across the African continent.
The statement highlighted that the enduring relations between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea are built on shared values, geographical proximity, and mutual cooperation, which continue to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region.
“Nigeria commends Equatorial Guinea for its continued contributions to regional peace and economic advancement. We look forward to deepening our collaboration through regional and continental platforms such as the Gulf of Guinea Commission and the African Union,” the statement read in part.
The Ministry reiterated that Nigeria’s commitment to national development and stability remains an inspiration throughout the Central African region and beyond, adding that the two countries will continue to work together toward achieving shared aspirations for prosperity and regional integration.
