Abuja – July 2025 — In a renewed demonstration of its commitment to national security and public service delivery, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered 35 stolen vehicles across various states within the first six months of 2025.
The milestone was achieved through the Corps’ deployment of the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) a cutting-edge, data-driven platform that enhances the traceability of vehicles nationwide. The recovered vehicles were linked to incidents of armed robbery, abduction, and fraudulent activities.
Among the recovered vehicles are 24 Toyota models, 5 Lexus, 2 Mercedes-Benz, 1 Ford Focus, 1 Daihatsu, 1 Pontiac Vibe, and 1 Toyota Sienna.
The operation was carried out in close collaboration with sister security agencies and several state governments, enabling a seamless and coordinated approach to tracking and retrieval.
Commending the Corps personnel involved in the recoveries, Corps Marshal noted that the success underscores the power of inter-agency collaboration and technological innovation in combating crime.
“This achievement is not just about vehicle recovery,” the Corps Marshal stated, “it reflects the FRSC’s quiet but relentless campaign against criminal networks attempting to undermine public safety using stolen vehicles.”

He reiterated the Corps’ dual commitment to both road safety and national security, particularly through the promotion of vehicle verification and identity management.
FRSC also called on the public to continue partnering with the agency by verifying vehicle details via the NVIS portal before purchase and reporting suspicious vehicle registrations. The Corps noted that public vigilance and trust are key pillars of its operational success.
Nigerians can also verify their number plate registrations using the FRSC mobile application or by visiting the official website at www.frsc.gov.ng.
